We have been working closely with our partners Enovert Community Trust, RFU, Gloucester Planning Department and our contractors Duralock to bring this project to fruition.
The key reasons for the new fencing around the pitch are:-
- To make the pitch a safer environment for both players and children by restricting general access and reducing persistent dog fouling which has resulted in several serious cases of Toxocara canis.
- To create a designated clear space around the pitch for match officials and team coaches.
- To improve the spectator experience while watching games.
- To create a safe space for our local special education needs children (SEN) from Milestone School.
The new fencing marks the first stage of Longlevens Rugby’s plans to create fantastic facilities to encourage inclusive rugby activities and multi-use sport for our growing, diverse and inclusive membership and local community.
