In the aftermath of Storm Claudia, conditions were far from ideal as Worcester welcomed Longlevens Mixed Ability Rugby for a fiercely anticipated local derby. The pitch was heavy, the wind unpredictable, and handling a challenge—but Longlevens adapted brilliantly, combining the pace of their backs with the raw power of their forward pack to secure an impressive 15–39 away victory.
Longlevens started brightly, using quick ball movement to stretch the Worcester defence and punching holes through the middle when needed. Worcester showed grit throughout, using the conditions to their advantage with some strong carries and tactical kicking, but Longlevens’ ability to accelerate play proved decisive.
The visitors crossed the whitewash seven times, with standout finishing from Connor, who bagged a superb hat-trick. Ethan bagged two tries, while Tom and Zack each added one of their own. The boot of Jordan and Luke delivered a conversion apiece to top off the scoring.
There were strong performances across the park, but Player of the Match went deservedly to Mark, whose relentless work rate in attack and defence set the tone for the team throughout the game.
A special mention to Charles, who made his Longlevens debut and wasted no time getting stuck in—making confident tackles and showing real promise for future outings.
At the other end of the honours list, Dick of the Day was awarded to Nathan, who decided not to travel because of the weather… and then forgot to tell any of his supporters, leaving them waiting in the storm!
Longlevens would like to extend a big thank you to Worcester for their warm hospitality despite the challenging conditions. A great afternoon of mixed ability rugby played in the right spirit, and a strong performance from both sides in testing weather.
Up the Levens!
