Longlevens 3rd team delivered a stunning performance away at Old Cryptians 2nd team, coming away with a comprehensive 46-0 victory. The match showcased the bright future of the club, with Longlevens fielding a young and dynamic team, including seven colts making their senior debut.

The young Longlevens side played with confidence from the kick-off, taking full advantage of playing downhill in the first half. They produced some exceptional, fast-paced rugby, moving the ball wide and exploiting space to devastating effect. The pressure was relentless, and the older, heavier Old Cryptians side struggled to cope with the speed and skill of their opponents.

The tries came thick and fast in the opening 40 minutes, with Longlevens running in seven tries. The try scorers were Steve Barnes (2), Ed Glanville (with a brilliant length-of-the-field effort), Mike Hosken, Andrew Kilby, Ty Grant, and Rowen Masters. Ed Glanville also added three conversions to give Longlevens a commanding half-time lead of 41-0.

With the slope now in their favour, Old Cryptians started the second half with renewed determination, making it harder for Longlevens to break through. The home side's defensive effort was commendable, but they still found themselves unable to keep the young visitors at bay for long.

Despite the tougher challenge, Longlevens' attacking flair never wavered. Sam Reynolds added the only try of the second half, rounding off a solid individual performance and sealing the victory. Old Cryptians camped on the Longlevens line for the entirety of the final 10 minutes but the superb defence held firm as the arms were raised at the final whistle.

This was a remarkable performance from Longlevens 3rds, with an emphasis on youthful energy and expansive rugby. The team showed great promise, with a blend of experience and youthful enthusiasm that bodes well for the future of the club. This win will certainly raise expectations and highlight the exciting prospects within Longlevens Rugby.
