Longlevens Rugby faced a challenging encounter on the road to Drybrook, ultimately suffering a heavy 52-13 defeat, but not without putting up a spirited fight, particularly in the first half.

With a changed side due to a number of injuries and unavailability, Longlevens took to the field with determination. The opening 40 minutes were competitive, as the visitors held their own against the hosts. Drybrook were first to break the deadlock, crossing for two tries in the first half. However, Longlevens responded well, keeping themselves in the game with a penalty try and two penalties from the boot of Brad Wilkins. As a result, the first half finished with Drybrook holding a narrow lead, 17-13.

The second half, however, was a different story. Drybrook turned up the intensity and took control of the game. They ran in five converted tries, showing their clinical finishing and dominating possession and territory. Longlevens struggled to maintain the momentum they had built in the first half, and despite a few strong individual performances, they were unable to get back into the game.

The final score of 52-13 was a fair reflection of the second-half dominance from Drybrook, but Longlevens can take pride in their resilience during the opening 40 minutes. They'll look to bounce back from this heavy loss as they prepare for the last league game of the year at home to Thornbury.
