Yesterday (Sunday) was a very sad day for the club with the passing of club legend Brian Hayes. Brian was club steward for many years. His unique stewardship was a great success, he was a people person taking time out to get to know all within the club. Upon walking into the club Brian would always ask how you and your family were, it seemed he knew every single person who ever walked through the door. He was also not afraid to let the members know if they stepped out of line. A generation of players/members grew up with Brian being a constant behind the bar. He commanded respect from all members who he became close friends with over his years of service. After his retirement from behind the bar he still came along to support the teams and enjoy a post-match drink. The club would like to send their condolences to his family and friends at this very sad time. Longlevens RFC will never be the same RIP Brian.
