After a few weeks since our last game against Port Talbot, Longlevens travelled down to Yeovil for a first ever fixture between the two teams.

The game started with both teams trading attacks but were not able to break down either defences due to some good defensive work by both teams. Yeovil managed to find a weakness in the Longlevens defence down the blindside with some good offloads leading to some space, however a covering tackling from Pete de Klein managed to stop the attack dead and win a much needed turnover in the process. The kick to touch from the resulting penalty did not make touch and Yeovil counted but following a last ditch tackle by Jack Giles stopped a certain try from Yeovil. After the first 20 minutes the game was still scoreless until Ethan O’Loughlin picked up a loose pass from Yeovil to run in under the posts for the first try, Luke Pegler with the conversion. Not long after, Yeovil managed to score a try of their own, with Yeovil going down the blindside again and after a few offloads, Yeovil went in to score, however the conversion was missed. Yeovil nearly had another try before half time, however following a try saving tackle by Connor Scantlebury, the Yeovil player dropped the ball over the try line. Half time score was 7-5 to Longlevens.

In the second half, Yeovil managed to get the next score. After a break by Yeovil, Ethan O’Loughlin managed to hold up the Yeovil player over the line, however from the resulting try line drop out, Yeovil found a gap in the defensive line to go over and score with them also getting the conversion. Score was now 12-7 to Yeovil. This woke Longlevens up as they went up the other end to score with Connor Scantlebury beating the covering defence to go and score, with Luke Pegler getting the conversion again. Longlevens started to turn the screw and were putting the pressure on Yeovil which finally lead to the next try. The ball was spread wide for Rhys Costello to go over, with Paul Thomas getting the conversion with the score now being 21-12 to Longlevens. Yeovil managed to get the next try with one of their new players, Charlie, going over to score under the posts and converted his own try. Score was now 21-19. In the last play of the game, Longlevens managed to get the final try with Ethan scoring his 2nd of the day, however conversion was missed. Final score was 26-19 to Longlevens.

This was the first game since Longlevens have been announced to return and play at the 2025 IMAS World Cup in Pamplona. This was a good result to start the journey to the World Cup. The team is raising funds in order to help pay for accommodation and travel to the tournament.
