Longlevens Rugby 2nds travelled to Tewksbury RFC on the back of two wins, and in good spirits. The first 20 minutes Longlevens were looking to use the ball but a intercept from a Tewksbury centre running in from half way making the score 7-0.

Longlevens got on the score board with fly half Zak Oliver penalty leaving the score 7-3. From the restart Longlevens got back into the Tewksbury 22 resulting in a penalty attempt by Zak Oliver which was missed wide.

On the half hour mark Longlevens got another penalty after the Tewksbury flanker halted a good attack by deliberately knocking the ball on resulting in yellow, leaving Tewksbury with 14 players. From the penalty Longlevens kicked to within the opposition 5 meters line. The forwards drive was halted just short, the ball was spun wide only for this time the Tewksbury winger to intercept and run the length of the field to score.

Unfortunately Longlevens never recovered and could not get any control in the game. This led to Tewksbury scoring regular tries leaving the final score 59-3 to Tewksbury.

It was the result Longlevens deserved on a day where after 20 minutes nothing went right and in the cold they could not get any real phases together for the first time this season. The chat after was how we needed and expected to be better. A good Christmas stopper was had by the players and management, helping the players to forget about the performance and lift the spirits.
