Longlevens colts travelled to Stroud colts looking to get back to winning ways after the loss in the national cup. Longlevens were missing a large chunk of the squad only managing to put out 16 players, which was also an issue that Stroud had but the game was able to go ahead.

Longlevens won the toss and straight from kick off put pressure on Stroud keeping them in there own 22 for a duration, after a period of pressure Longlevens managed a pick and go with Connor Rodway scoring under the posts conversion successful 0-7. Continuing from the early pressure Longlevens were unlucky not to score after being camped on Strouds try line Stroud maintained a strong defensive line only a knock on stopped Longlevens from adding points on the board. Stroud managed to with stand the pressure to get into Longlevens 22 and some well worked attacking play allowed Stroud to score under the posts. 7-7 HT.

A halftime chat about staying tight with the ball and using our set piece play allowed Longlevens to regain control of the game. Strouds strong defence line was being tested again then a scrum on the Stroud 5 metre line allowed Connor Rodway to score his 2nd try of the game conversion unsuccessful 7-12. Longlevens added a penalty to extend the lead 7-15. Longlevens control of the game stopped Stroud from pushing up the pitch, Longlevens set piece especially the scrum which was pretty dominant throughout the game, allowed the ball to be passed through the backs with Fullback Callum McClean scoring conversion unsuccessful 7-20. 10 mins left of the game with Stroud pushing to get back in Longlevens stood up to the challenge and managed to keep the score at 7-20.

A great effort from the lads especially with such a reduced squad. A special mention to the forwards for their hard work at the set piece and for the lads playing out of position.
