Longlevens Rugby 2nds went to Old Patesians knowing before the game started the league points were secure due to Old Pats being 3 players short, but full credit to Zack Fisher, Andrew Richards and the returning Jack Tyler who played for the opposition meaning a 15 a side competitive game could be played.

Competitive was how it turned out as at half time the scores were 19 all after first half tries for the Griffins from Elliot Fortey, Jacob Holman Jones and Harry Hunter. Second half Longlevens had to defend for large periods before a break out from there own 22 allowed Harry Hunter to get his second try, before Pats scored using the pack on a pick and go making the score 26-24 to levens with 15 to go.

With Pats now tiring Longlevens managed to keep the ball through phases before scores followed for Fred McGhee and a final score for Ethan O’Loughlin finished off the game making the final score a flattering 40-24.

On a poor pitch in poor condition Longlevens had to work very hard for the tries but credit must go to Pats who made life very difficult for Longlevens. But with another 5 points Longlevens move to second in the league and travel to Greyhound RFC next week which is sure to be a test and the boys must be at their best.
