Longlevens Rugby U16’s 45 - Cheltenham North U16's 10
Longlevens travelled to Cheltenham North looking to keep up there unbeaten run! North were missing players and managed to get 14 players to keep the game on. Longlevens started well putting the pressure on. North scored first running in from just outside their 22 after a knock on from Levens, conversion missed. Levens replied soon after, a well judged through kick from Hopson, Butler beat the last man to the ball to level the score! Conversion was successful. Levens kept the pressure on scoring further tries from Hopson 2 and Halavatau. North hit back and scored a well worked try, conversion missed. Levens refocused putting the pressure on North with a try coming from a turn over, Murphy getting the try. Halftime 31-10.
2nd half started scrappy with some good pressure from North keeping Levens away from the try line. Levens had chances but couldn’t turn the pressure into points, and as the game went on Levens found space from an excellent run from McLean which then allowed Hopson to score again under the posts. Levens last try was the pick of the bunch, Dee picked up the ball from his own 22, showed great pace and near foot work with a neat offload to keep the ball alive with support runners keeping the ball moving along the line with Fortey diving over for the points, conversion successful. Final score 45-10. A great game for all after a few weeks off. Thanks again to Cheltenham North for the game and hospitality after!
