Longlevens Rugby 2nds hosted Minchampton RFC for the last league game of the season, and recorded and impressive victory against a big Minchinampton side.
Longlevens started the game with pace and was quickly realised that any pace in the game was going to cause the big Minchampton side problems, there was an impressive debut from colt L Murphy who helped himself to a hattrick and another colt Alfi Lane made a impression coming on at half time and grabbing 2 tries himself to help record an impressive 61-17 victory to finish off the season.
Tries flowed regularly for the Griffins with scores for Jaiden Vance, Jack Muncaster, Luca Parry and another Colt Harry Morris getting the tries for Longlevens.
It was an impressive performance and a lot of promise from colts making their way into the senior game.
The league campaign has been a good learning curve for the seconds, finishing a comfortable mid table, in their first season promoted to the league with some good victories.Next season if we can turn the narrow defeats to victories a top 3 spot will be the aim.
Attention now turns to the Combination Cup where the 2s face Brockworth 1st on Wednesday, and the 3rds face Chosen Hill on Thursday, both teams with the aim of getting to Kingsholm.
