Longlevens Rugby 2nds faced a Greyhound RFC side who gave them a big test in the early part of the season but this game proved lessons were learnt.
Longlevens knew how Greyhound wanted to play which was using big forwards on short narrow lines this meant the talk before was to speed the game up and get them running around and the first 20 minutes that was exactly how we played scoring (4) early tries.

The first after fly haf Ben Furley kicked levens into position Longlevens spun the ball wide and back again resulting in a try on debut for centre Ollie Kemp, the second followed quickly a kick down the middle by Greyhound resulted in a good break by James Moseley and a neat switch move  to Carlos Jenkins allowing him to use his pace to score the first of his five tries.

The third try from the re-start, good quick ball, a nice break by scrum half Will Kemmet and try number two for Carlos Jenkins. The bonus point try came on the 20th minute a well positioned cross field kick by Ben Furley  was caught by Jack Robbins leaving the score 22-0. Another score followed quickly with Greyhound struggling to get hold of the Longlevens side who were passing the ball from winger to winger eventually resulted in Carlos Jenkins hat trick try.

The next 10 minutes complacency and silly penalties resulted in Greyhound using there big forwards and scoring 2 tries the first a pick and go from close range the second after several penalties and a yellow card for Henry Garner, Greyhound scored a deserved push over from a 5m scrum leaving the scores 27-10.

Captain Martin Deacon rallied his side and Longlevens finished the half where they had started it and scored two tries first through Ben Furley with a show and go, the second through Carlos Jenkins for his fourth try leaving half time score 37-10.

Longlevens were asleep after half time and this allowed Greyhound to get a early try leaving the score 37-15. The rest of the half was controlled by Longlevens and three more scores were added first through Ethan O`Loughlin using his pace to score under post the next was Carlos Jenkins for his fifth try after a good break by Jack Holford, the final try was a score in the corner for the returning Iman Hussain leaving the final score a convincing 58-15.

It was a good result for Levens with a lot of positives but also a lot to work on in terms of defence and discipline, with 5 games to go in the league it is there for the seconds to win but the remaining games are going to be tough starting against Cheltenham seconds next Saturday at Longford Lane.
