Longlevens Rugby 2nds 50 - 14 Widden Old Boys RFC 2nds Saturday 15th January 2022
Longlevens Rugby 2nd team entertained Widden Old Boys RC 2nds in what felt like a rare home fixture, Longlevens started the game with a bang running the big Widden pack around and scoring 3 tries inside the first 20 mins, Widden started to get there big pack into the game towards the end of the second half and looked like scoring before a big hit from prop Rueben Mitchell dislodged the ball and Longlevens span the ball wide and the pace proved too much for Widden, the rest of half was all Levens which left a half time score of 38-0. Longlevens had the luxury of bringing on 4 fresh players at half time and was very pleasing to see another colt come on the field In Chris karayiannis, the second half turned very scrappy which enabled Widden to score 2 deserved tries of their own, Longlevens regrouped for the final 15 minutes and scored 2 tries through the returning Jake Kitson The final score being 50-14, and dispute not the most convincing of 80 minutes of rugby from Longlevens this season, the positives is they held a big pack well throughout the game and came away with a convincing win, scoring some fine tries in the processes.
