Longlevens Rugby 2nd team played their first game in 5 weeks and carried on where they left off coming out convincing 38-0 winners at home to Newent RFC 2nds.
The game started with Newent having the first 10 minutes of possession and territory but Longlevens defence held firm a dominant scrum gave Longlevens a good advantage all game, after 10 minutes Longlevens held onto the ball for several phases resulting in a try in the corner for Mike Yorke.
The next score soon followed with Longlevens putting Newent under pressure several penalties resulted in a kick to touch and well set catch and drive and a try for the returning Matt Fatica.
The next score came from a dominant scrum allowing Matt Fatica to flop on the ball over the line and score his second try leaving the half time score 21-0.
In The second half the rain came down and Longlevens needed to be more direct which made moving the ball difficult, the bonus point was secured inside the first 5 mins of the half when another well worked catch and drive allowed Matt Fatica to score his third and Longlevens 4th try.
The next score was a great break through the middle by the impressive Mike Yorke who then fed E Oloughlin to score the 5th try of the afternoon.
The last score was with the last play of the game and again a neat break by Mike Yorke allowed him to draw in the full back and James Mosley to score under the post with the last play of the game.
Was a good hit out for Longlevens after so long out and the cobwebs were blown away for the second half of the season.
