Longlevens Rugby 2nds travelled to Spartans RFC and although they found themselves on the wrong end of the result, but it was a much improved performance which found them coming away with 2 points.
Longlevens scored the first try of the game after a loose kick was picked up by Mike Yorke who broke free from several tackles to run in under the post 7-0 to the griffins.
Longlevens struggled to deal with the Spartans drive and this resulted in them scoring 2 tries and getting the lead 14-7
The next score was another effort from the impressive Yorke after some good hands found Yorke in space to score 14-14.
Spartans had the last say of the half with another catch and drive meaning Spartans went into the half time 21-14.
The score was soon back level after a good carry from Jack Muncaster making the score 21-21.
Spartans then resulted to a penulty after they could not get over the try line, 21-24.
Longlevens then took the lead after a kick from their own 22 and the ball bounced into the hands of Liam Murphy to give Levens the lead 28-24.
Unfortunately 2 unforced errors resulted in 2 tried for Spartans and the game was out of the reach from Longlevens final score 35-28.
A much improved performance and on another day Longlevens would of done enough to gain a victory
A week off for the seconds before they face an inform Cheltenham Saracens RFC at home.
