Longlevens Rugby 2nd team hosted Stow on the Wold 2nds in a friendly fixture, Longlevens started the game well scoring 2 well worked tries and going into a 12-0 lead inside 30 minutes, Longlevens spent the next 10 minutes with 14 men after a silly yellow for Andrew Kilby, which left them defending there line and nearly went into half time without conceding a try. Pressure finally told with stows big forwards making good yardage allowing stow to finally get a score leaving the half time score 12-5.

The second half stow brought on some big reinforcements, having the luxury of plenty of subs to choose from the first 20 minutes levens found it hard to cope with the fresh legs and Stow scored 4 unanswered tries’ leaving the score line 12-2. The last 20 mins was scrappy but Levens managed to score a few tries of their own but couldn’t stop Stow scoring 2, the final score was to Longlevens who finished the game attacking leaving the final score Longlevens 24 Stow 39.

Longlevens must take great heart from the first half performance with a young side and know if they can play with that defensive intensity they will come on the end of better results in the last few games of the season.
