Longlevens Rugby 2nd team travelled to Bredon to take on Bredon Star RFC.

After a distributive preparation Longlevens started slowly allowing Bredon into a 13-0 lead.

Longlevens managed to keep themselves in the game with 2 first half penalties from Zak Oliver leaving Longlevens still in the game at 16-6 at half time.

With the slope Longlevens come out second half and dominated territory and possession they eventually got on the score sheet after a short offload by Sam Oliver allowed Andrew Kilby to dive in under the post converted by Zak Oliver 16-13.

Longlevens were inaccurate from the restart giving away a silly penalty allowing Bredon to get 3 further points 19-13.

Longlevens were now making good progress using the driving maul to put Bredon under pressure but credit to Bredon who held firm and held Longlevens up twice over the try line.

Longlevens got another 3 points on the board from the boot of Zak Oliver 19-16.

Longlevens were now pressuring and looking like they could get the lead but a turnover from the influential Bredon 7 allowed them to get the ball wide and the winger found space to squeeze over to score a try in the corner. Leaving the score 26-16.

Longlevens were back pressing and with 5 minutes to go scored their second try. In many ways it was frustrating day for the Griffins, one the squad will learn from and move onwards.
