Longlevens Rugby 2nds hosted Widden Old Boys RFC and despite the promising start the result didn’t go their way.
Longlevens started brightly with a lot of pressure, but the heavy pitch meant Longlevens could not get their usual pace into the game.
A early shot at goal went just wide from the restart Longlevens giving away several penalties and  found themself 3-0 down.
The next 5 minutes Widden got into the game an injury to centre Zak Fish meant a reshuffle and flanker Luca parry required to fill in at centre with the disruption a try followed for Widden 8-0.
Longlevens then had the next 10 minutes of the half and a try followed for the impressive Jaiden Vance who made good ground every time he got the ball converted by Zak Oliver 8-7.
Widden had the last say before half time a well taken try leaving half time 11-7.
The second half Longlevens found themselves still in the sheds and with this Widden scored 2 tries leaving levens chasing the game at 21-7.
There was a moment of hope for Levens when Joe Rakasake put good pressure on the Widden 10 allowing him to pounce and score a try 21-12.
From this point the last 15 did not go to plan and Widden scored 3 more tries leaving the final score 42-12.
Wasn’t the best day for Longlevens 2nds but we regroup and face enough tough test against Spartans on Saturday
