Longlevens Rugby come into the game wanting to get back to winning ways hoping for a local derby against Old Richians RFC as is the case with many clubs at moment they were unable to raise a side. This led to Berry Hill agreeing to play an earlier postponed league fixture.

The game started well for Longlevens who shot out the blocks scoring 2 early tries through there pacey backline, but as in previous games Longlevens spent the next 15 minutes on the back foot giving away silly penalties and allowing the big Berry Hill side into the game levelling the scores at 14 a piece with 25 mins on clock.

The plan was clear levens has to be patient keep the ball use their back line and be disciplined in defence, the next 25 minutes they did half the job scoring 2 tries themselves but not doing their defensive job leaving levens behind at half time 28-29.

The second half was much a much improved performance from levens, the defence was more disciplined and the attack more accurate and patient. Levens scored some lovely tries using forwards and backs and playing quick rugby, Leaving the final score levens 42 Berry Hill 29 A big thanks to Berry Hill for agreeing to travel late in the week.

It’s great that levens are getting a strong regular second team playing and with everyone fit and available fixture sec Colin Rose could have more work on his hands looking for a 3rd team fixture.
