Longlevens Rugby 2nd team travelled to Greyhound RFC knowing that this was to be a tough game the mindset was right from the start the big Greyhound side put a lot of early pressure on keeping Levens in their own 22 for long periods but full credit to the players they stopped them getting over the line before Greyhound had to give in and finally take 3 points this was closely followed by another 3 leaving Levens 6-0 down but with plenty of positives in the way they were defending.

Longlevens never really saw a lot of ball in the first 20 mins but after managing to get the ball for a few phases the big Greyhound side eventually caught offside allowing Zak Oliver to make it 6-3. The next 15 minutes Longlevens managed to get a bit of the ball and after going through a few phases allowed space for Will Kemmet to go in at the corner leaving the half time score 6-8 to levens.

They second half was a evenly matched with neither team managing to take full control but 15 minutes in and with Longlevens now getting the upper hand in the scrum a nice blindside move resulted in captain Martin Deacon picking off the back of the dominant scrum passing to Euen Williams who fed Will Kemmet to go in for his second with the conversion unsuccessful the score line was 13-6 in levens favour. The next 5 minutes Greyhound kept the ball well through phases and eventually got the ball wide to the winger who showed a good turn or pace to score and the fly half converted leaving the scores level at 13-13 with 10 minutes to go. Looking like a draw was on the cards Zak Oliver controlled the game well and kept Greyhound in there half before a eventual turn over in midfield and Longlevens went through 5 or 6 phases before releasing Ethan Oloughlin to score and continue his impressive run of 3 tries in 3 senior appearances, Zak Oliver converted leaving the score 20-13 with 2 minutes to go.

Longlevens saw out the last few minutes and kept the ball resulting in a good dogged out victory.

With a long way to go the seconds find themselves top of the league with some difficult games to come. The boys know they need to continue to be at the best to continue winning games.
