Longlevens started their defence of the combination cup away and to Gordon league and produced their best performance of the season. With the weather drying up Longlevens put some lovely phases together but we’re just missing the final pass to finish off the moves.


The first score come after 10 minutes a lovely break my Ollie smith put Longlevens into good field position and from a Gordon league penalty Captain Martin Deacon  opted for a scrum and a dominant scrum allowed Deacon himself to flop over for his and Longlevens first try converted by Zak Oliver 7-0.


From the restart Longlevens were sloppy and allowed Gordon League to get on the score board with a catch and drive score 7-5.


This kicked started Longlens and from then on it was total dominant performance by Longlevens starving Gordon league of any real ball which forced League into giving away penalties it was on the 25 minute mark Tom Denby scored from the first catch and drive the next scores was a carbon copy but allowed Captain Martin Deacon to get his second score. Leaving score 17-5.


There was time for Longlevens row score one more try before half time another dominant scrum allowed Ben Furley to show and go under the post leaving the half time 24-5.


Half time come and the talk was all about Longlevens keeping their structure and adding to the impressive first half.


The second half started how the first half finished and the first in the score sheet was substitute Stu Stephenson converted by Zak Oliver.


Dispite the game going flat Longlevens still managed 4 more scores next score was for Captain M Deacon, this was followed by a score for J Vance After patient phases ball got wide for Vance in a bit of space to use his pace 45-5.


Gordon league were tiring having defended for long periods and from the restart Jack Muncaster collected beat 2 men before running the length to get the score to 52-5.


There was time for one more try for Longleven with the ball being kept through phases getting left to right the ball made its was to Carlos Jenkins to get on the outside beat the fall back and score under the post 59-5.


It was a impressive display by Longlevens next on Wednesday is a repeat of last years final Matson at Longford Lane, the boys will know as good as they were in this game as they were last week they need to up there game they will have to up the performance again, against a Matson team who will be looking for revenge on last years final.
