Longlevens Rugby 2nd team travelled to Fairford RFC in a hastily arranged fixture after both teams leagues fixtures were cancelled.

Before the game the plan was to build on the impressive and convincing win the week before away to Cheltenham Saracens RFC.

A few late changes in personnel meant a reshuffle of the side but from 1-18 Longlevens upped the physicality and produced a creditable performance coming out 45-17 winners against a competitive Fairford side who sit top of their respected league.

The first score was from the Harvey Walshingham who put in a good 60 minute performance on his second game back from long term injury, next to score was Oliver Deacon who is now 2 tries from 2 games and enjoying his shuffle back from prop into the engine room.

The first half score came at regular intervals and a try for winger Joe Rakasake made the score 19-0.Fairford then scored themselves 19-7.

Longlevens then gained control again and the ball carrying of number eight Matt Fatica was causing the Fairford side problems and he scored the first of his 2 tries on his return from injury.

One more score in the first half from the impressive full back Kieran Stranger left a good dominant first half leaving the score 33-7 at half time

Longlevens in the second half were in control, but full credit to Fairford who scored 2 tries in the second half but Longlevens managed 2 scores of their own through strong running winger Ollie Kemp and Matt Fatica who got his second leaving the final score Longlevens 45 Fairford 17.

This was a good performance from Longlevens, and they will look to build again against Minchinhampton RFC at home after a week off, and keep their winning streak going.
