Longlevens Rugby 2nds travelled to Cinderfordto play their third team. The game had a slow start but the defence held firm and a missed penalty allowed Longlevens to get out there half and gain some possession of the ball. This meant Cinderford gave away consecutive penalties allowing Longlevens to put the ball into the corner and a well set up catch and drive resulted in captain Martin Deacon scoring the opening try, conversion followed by Zak Oliver.
The rest of the half was an even affair but Longlevens defence was solid which ment Cinderford never looked like scoring, Longlevens got inside the opposition 22 on several occasions but excitement and panic meant try scoring finishes were lacking leaving the half time score 7-0.
The second half was a similar pattern, with Levens looking solid but not able to put the finishing touches to their opportunities, 20 minutes in a good turn over by Louis Bosley in his own 22 and nice passing got the ball outside in space to Jaiden Vance who chipped over and won the race to score a good try leaving score 12-0.
With 15 minutes to go it looked like Levens had scored another try through substitute Andrew Kilby only for the referee to deem he did not ground the ball. The Rest of the game was a stalemate with neither side looking like scoring.
It was a good away win for Longleven to a tough side and with the preparations was a good result leaving them top of the table going into Christmas, with Drybrook RFC thirds pulling out of the league there will not be a league game for the seconds before Christmas, with friendlies being sought to fill the gaps.
