A year ago we tragically lost one of our own. Toffee the lads did you proud today! Always in our thoughts.
Longlevens colts travelled up the M5 to play Bredon colts for the second league game of the new season. Levens were missing a few players due to school commitments/work/ injuries and illness.l!
Like the last league game Longlevens started well scoring early, conversion unsuccessful
Longlevens continued the tempo playing on a smaller pitch with a slope across the pitch the ball was kept in the midfield using forward dominance to get up the field once the ball got to the backs neat footwork and power resulted in the 2nd try, conversion successful, Bredon started to work up the pitch and good defence work kept them at bay and kept the score to zero, once levens regained control the tries started to come a mixture of forward work and neat hands, the pick of the tries was fullback Turner running 3/4 of the pitch to score under the posts, conversion successful,
HT 31-0
Levens made a few change to freshen up the back line, Bredon put pressure on early and looked to come back into the game but levens stood up to the pressure, the game started to become open due to injuries to Bredon players with the sides dropping down to 12 players , This didn’t stop levens from adding to the points tally running in 3 further tries, Bredon scored a consolation try at the end final score 55-5
Try scorers Magri,Murphy,Glanville,Turner,Lane,Butler,
Parsons,Hosken x2 ,
5 conversions Glanville
Well done lads, special mention to the returning captain Magri after his little break to the south of France, Hayes filling in at Hooker and Glanvilles debut at Flyhalf.
Best of luck to Bredon for the rest of the season and look forward to welcoming them to Longford lane for the reverse fixture. This Sunday we host Old Pats in the next round of the National Cup, lets get behind the lads. 🏉
