Longlevens Rugby 2s we’re home to Cirencester RFC 2s and put in their best performance of the season in what turned out to be a great day for the club with both teams winning at home in front of their sponsors.
Longlevens started the game going through phases of play resulting in Shane O’Brien scoring in the corner.
Straight from the kick off a great kick chase from Tom Porter putting pressure on their full back allowing Freddie McGhee to pick the ball up and score, next to score was Jack Cuthbert who had a good game once again after stealing a lineout Cuthbert wrapped back round to score himself leaving the score 17-0, next to score was Jake Fox after a great break and offload from kory Holman Jones,
There was a further 2 scores in the corner first by Matt Snyder and the second by Andrew Kilby leaving the half time score 34-0.
Half time was all about not switching off, and to the Griffins credit they didn’t , they continued to attack with pace and accuracy which resulted in try’s for Ben Furley, Tom Porter, Jake fox with a second, Will Kemmett and finishing the Longlevens scoring was the impressive Mike Yorke.
There were strong performances by both centres Tom Porter and Kory Holman Jones who caused the big Cirencester centres problems all afternoon, the final score did go to Cirencester in a score that they thoroughly deserved leaving the final score 65-5.
