Longlevens RFC
Cinderford RFC

Longlevens Colts hosted Cinderford Colts, a game that was eagerly anticipated after such a long COVID-19 break from playing. The game started at a frantic pace with multiple errors as expected from both sides. As the game wore on Cinderford used their large forwards to break the gain-line. Longlevens tackled manfully, but when the forester entered the red zone their conversation rate into points was high. Both sets of players should be applauded for the way they applied themselves as the skill levels was there for all to see. The second period Longlevens came back into the game, which made for a tight finish. Cinderford secured the victory with a try late on. Longlevens three tries in the game came through the influential full back Carlos Jenkins, who always made ground beating defenders when exiting the back field. Two more Longlevens tries were scored by Finlay Garfield and Flynn Hargrieves, with Josh Dingwall kicking two conversations. The crowd witnessed a full blooded game, played with adapted laws which was a great success. All the players at the final whistle were delighted that the game had taken place and were very happy to play a competitive game of rugby once again. As the crowd left the ground at the final whistle, the atmosphere was of satisfaction that once again community rugby was back at Longlevens rugby, a sentiment that will be shared around Gloucester. A big thanks must go to both clubs who have worked hard so hard to make this game possible.
