Longlevens RFC

A Great Day For The Griffins

We saw two heavyweights from the English mixed ability rugby set-up face one another. The game was played in overton lane, Worcester in the back drop was six-ways stadium.

The game was played at high tempo suiting the griffins style of play. An outstanding defence led by defencive captains Pete DeKlein and Daffyd Brown kept Worcester at bay until late on into the game. Only conceding 5 in total. Going forward was a completely different experience compared to 2 years ago, Witch saw the griffins loose 67-5. With a strong powerful platform caused from the impressive front five Saul Cowley, Paul Thompson and Laurence Waring the pick of the bunch. They were able to get a good platform to feed the back line. Time after time the Longlevens backs punctured holes in the defence or when rushed a kick over the top from fly half Fish or centre Jordan Rankinwoohouse chased up by the back 3 James Marshall, Tom Payne, Jair Fountain saw valuable yards taken every time. The offload game was fantastic too see. With all players forwards and backs getting involved at times we thought they were the All Blacks in disguise.  This was made extra special having 3 debuts. We welcome Shane Daley, Mike Neil and DAF (Daffyd Brown)
